Who we are & what we do
Swell parish council consists of 7 elected Councillors who serve for a four year term.
Presently there is a vacancy for two Parish Councillors.
Councillors perform their duties in a voluntary capacity and receive no payment.
The address of the Parish Council is that of the Clerk.
Council meetings - are held on the third Tuesday of alternate months except August and December when there are no meetings.
An agenda listing the business to be conducted will be placed on the parish notice board in Lower Swell and on this website, at least three clear days before the meeting date. Additional meetings arise as needed and are advertised in the same way.
Meetings take place in Lower Swell village hall and usually start at 6.30p.m. Please refer to the website diary of meetings for further information or contact the clerk.
Should a vacancy occur a Councillor can be appointed by co-option by the Parish Council. If such an occasion arises and you would like to become a Councillor or find out more about what it entails please contact the Clerk.

The parish clerk is also the responsible financial officer and is the only employee of the Parish Council.

Parish Council Elections
Parish council elections take place on a four year cycle, the next being due in May 2019.
Should a vacancy occur between elections a councillor can be appointed by co-option by the parish council. If such an occasion arises, as now and you would like to become a councillor or find out more about what it entails please contact the clerk
